Allow me to introduce myself...
"My name is Tanina"
I
was born at
Termini Imerese, the Greek town
of Himera. Originally I was used to
transport pumice stone from Lipari
to the smaller islands and oil from
Messina and Milazzo to the Aeolian
Islands, in the days before
electricity, when private generators were the only
source of power.
Formany years I was used as a fėshing
vessel and am better known for this
work by the sailors and people of
these islands who have all benefited
from my service be it for work,
travelling, or even learning to sail.
Today, after various facelifts
performed by my Captain in order
to rejuvenate me, I can once again
return to my itinerary of the old
days when my arrival at small
communities was looked forward to
in anticipation in order to admire my
beauty and charm. All said and
done, I feel to be a very welcome
guest in every port and am always
offered safe shelter when sea
conditions are unfavourable.
If we have the luck to get to know
each other, you will be able to live the Aeolian Islands in the
calm
peaceful ways of old and enjoy the excitement of diving in secluded
coves or discovering unexplored
grottos.
